THE CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION, 2011The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is conducted every year by theUnion Public Service Commission (UPSC) as a common examination forrecruitment to various services like the Indian Administrative Service,Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, as well as Group A andGroup B Central Services. The notification for the examination, (givingrules and the syllabus for all subjects included in the exam) is published inthe month of November/December every year in EmploymentNews/Rozgar Samachar and Gazette of India as well as in someNewspapers. All students are advised to get a copy of this notification fromthe Employment News or other publications.The UPSC has changed the pattern of the Exam for 2011 and has replacedthe existing Preliminary Examination with a Civil Services Aptitude Test(CSAT), which will be a common Test for all candidates.The Aptitude Test Consisting of Paper I and Paper II will be of objectivetype. The test will be common for all candidates.
